JDTA

Job Duty Task Analysis is the first step. It captures the exact tasks a technician must perform, the conditions under which those tasks are done, and the performance standards required. This analysis defines what students must be able to do and how their performance will be verified, providing a concrete scope that guides all later steps. With those tasks and criteria, you design the course outline, then develop content and assessments that map directly to them. Needs assessment asks whether training is needed and can influence the effort, but it doesn’t specify the actual tasks and standards that drive the curriculum. Course evaluation comes later, after delivery, to judge effectiveness and guide revisions.
